Newest work depicting Beavertail lighthouse in Jamestown RI..I wanted the directional elements including waves and sky clouds to point to the lighthouse. Mixing a little impressionist brush movement with some expressionist color my goal was to keep your eyes moving. This historic lighthouse was also a military installation during WW1 & WW2, hence the ruin of the gun mound on the right side.
I was born and raised in southern Rhode Island. I have been working in the "real world" for 25 years and recently started painting again. My artwork has been displayed throughout New England in galleries and shows. I am the winner of a congressional art award which was for my colored pencil drawing of "Autumn Leaves 1987". This piece was displayed in congress for a year. I am also a graduate of The New England School of Art & Design (Boston MA.1993) Majoring in graphic design and illustration with a minor in photography.
