Description
Gruene Hall and Watertower - Gruene is an area located just within New Braunfels city limits which was created in the 1940a by German immigrant the Ernst Gruene family which is also the towns nam. Also the name Gruene is pronounced "Green". The Gruene led the way to build a community for the cotton farmers. This is the oldest dance hall in Texas built somewhere in the late 1878 by the Gruene as he started this community just outside of New Braunfels Tx. Gruene Hall is still in business today with a saloon and dance hall. The water tower stands behind the dance hall in this image on a nice cloudy day. Gruene is visited by many as it is one of the top destinations for tourist to visit in the Texas hill country year round it is listed as a National Register of Historic Places.
