Settled Whispers in Light Blue by Jacquie Gouveia

Inspired by the beaches of Cape Cod, Massachusetts,

I spent many summer vacations on Cape Cod with my family and loved going to the beach. I especially loved Old Silver Beach in Falmouth, MA because the tide would recede way out. The beach is located on Buzzards Bay and is a favorite New England beach. I always thought is was so cool to "walk on the ocean" with my sisters and mother. The original painting was created in 2014 after my mother passed away from Alzheimers. I needed something calming and peaceful to reduce a lot of the stress from the previous years that my family went through.

"The shores of Old Silver Beach are nice and sandy. And if you look closely, you’ll be amazed by the marine life along the water. Search for barnacles and periwinkles on the rock jetties, and watch for silvery fish swimming in the shallow waters.

Old Silver Beach’s two sections sit on either side of a salt marsh along Herring Brook. This stream winds its way toward Buzzards Bay from Wing Pond, and it’s an important habitat for migrating river herring in spring. Take a short walk from the beach to Herring Brook, and you might see egrets, fiddler crabs, and menhaden in this salt marsh habitat." From the Buzzards Bay Coalition

This piece has been sold and collected around the world. Many Interiors Designers have used it in design projects and sold through their online stores. I once licensed my artwork through Wendover Art Group in Florida, and from that this piece, and others, were sold by McGee and Co.

This piece was used on Netflix series, House of Cards and continually shows up in other places like Own the Runway store in New York.

There are 4 versions of this particular painting. Most buyers love to frame it in either a gold float frame or a natural maple frame.
