Artist's Description

The grandeur of the bison herds migrating through Hayden Valley makes me think of what it might have been like when millions of their kind roamed North America. It saddens me that we will never see them as they once were before they were so savagely slaughtered, but to experience their strength and majesty in this little oasis of Yellowstone always leaves me in awe.

I've always loved animals and nature and have been photographing both since I was a little girl in Long Island toting around my Kodak Instamatic. My lifelong love of all things wild and furry led me to relocate from New York to Wyoming to be close to the area's wealth of wildlife. During my first visit to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in 1994, I felt a special connection to the area and was determined to make it my home. I now live outside the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park in nearby, Wapiti, Wyoming. Since I left my corporate job, I spends most of my days in the company of the wildlife and wild horses that call this area home.
