Artist's Description

A small population of Yellowstone bison winter in the Shoshone National Forest of northwestern Wyoming. These bison make the long journey over Sylvan Pass in autumn and spend the next six months traveling along the North Fork in search of forage. When winter turns to spring, the bison once again journey over Sylvan Pass, back to their summer home in Yellowstone.

I've always loved animals and nature and have been photographing both since I was a little girl in Long Island toting around my Kodak Instamatic. My lifelong love of all things wild and furry led me to relocate from New York to Wyoming to be close to the area's wealth of wildlife. During my first visit to the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem in 1994, I felt a special connection to the area and was determined to make it my home. I now live outside the East Entrance of Yellowstone National Park in nearby, Wapiti, Wyoming. Since I left my corporate job, I spends most of my days in the company of the wildlife and wild horses that call this area home.
