I love to find sea glass when I am walking in the sand. Beach glass, sea glass, whatever you may call it- it is awesome. Sea glass is especially fun to paint because of the contrast in the shiny parts and the dull etched areas, as well as the beautiful colors. Painting the pieces of glass on a white background also gave me the ability to put in some good shadows.

I am a California artist and I divide my painting time between watercolors and oils. My favorites are still life paintings, but I also enjoy beach and garden themes. Many of my paintings come from scenes in my own garden. I have loved all kinds of art for as long as I can remember, and started drawing and painting as a kid. I grew up with a very creative mom and that definitely inspired me to continue on and study art in college. I have a bachelor's degree in Industrial Arts from CSUFresno in California. I have been lucky to live on both coasts- California and Long Island, New York.
