Artist's Description
Vintage square snapshot of the Riverboat ride at Disneyland, Anaheim, California, taken by this photographer as an eleven-year-old in 1958. The original photo was scanned in color to preserve the tint. In 2012 it was straightened and given a new white border in the same proportions as the original. In the process of preservation and restoration, dust has been painstakingly removed by hand. It has not been enlarged or upsized.
Keep in mind that old snapshots are full of noise, and can vary in size and proportions. I chose to preserve the noise rather than lose any detail, and to retain the original color rather than convert to black-and-white. (Originally it was a black-and-white image that took on a subtle tint over time.)

Shot with a Kodak film camera and originally printed in black-and-white.

About Connie Fox
This true aesthetic loves beautiful things, from architecture to the intricate details of flowers and plants. A native Californian who lived in Arizona before settling in Texas, I love nature, topography, and exploring small towns, looking for old buildings, unique objects, and rust. Then I spent 25 years as an award-winning writer, graphic designer, and editorial consultant--skills I still use in this venue and in helping others with special projects. This unique background, requiring discernment and perfection, helps ensure the quality of my work. I hope you will...
