If I am reading this right, the plug-in will work with Photoshop and Affinity Photo. Thanks for sharing Phillip.

Thanks for the heads up!
Considering how Topaz has been dumping all over their buyers, this is a fantastic deal! Actually, it is a fantastic deal with no regard for Topaz.

Thank You Philip!
It seems to get more and more complicated to install new software, but now I am finished and it looks interesting.

I've been using the free limited version of ON1 for years now. I downloaded the recent On1 Effects 2023.5 after receiving the email but it tells me it won't work on my computer. I'm using Windows 10. (Windows 11 also won't work on my computer). I know eventually I'll need to upgrade to a new PC. I was going to do it a couple of years ago but supplies were being held up on the ships crowded in the Bay waiting to get to harbor for unloading. (I believe it was Covid 19 related). Stores didn't have the new equipment at that time.

Brian, on the link page above, it gives the minimum spec requirements to run Effects 2023.5 and Windows 10 or 11 should be OK, but only with the current maintenance releases and 64 bit. There are also some graphics requirements mentioned, so if your computer is quite old, perhaps that's the reason it won't install???
Also, for the benefit of anyone else interested, there is very little difference between the free 2023.5 version and the latest 2024 version, so it is a good deal. The effects I use on my images most often are:
dynamic contrast
colour adjustment
split tone
vignette
colour replacement
black and white
photo filter (eg, skylight, 81a, polarizer)
There are quite a few others which I may use occasionally.
You can edit all included presets, and also create and save your own.
The masking options are good too if you only want to apply effects to part of an image.

Angie, regards masking, it's probably best to look on YouTube and search for ON1 masking. ON1 produce a lot of how to videos themselves, and other people, eg, Scott Davenport or Jim Nix also do a lot of good videos.
Essentially, when you have selected am effect, eg, dynamic contrast, a panel will open with all the slider controls for it. At the top section of that panel, you will see a small icon shaped like a square with a circle inside it. Click on that and more masking options will open that can be edited with brushes or gradients etc. I think the 2023.5 version also uses AI for making selections. Masks can also be copied from one effect to another. You can also create luminosity masks and edit them. But best to look out for some ON1 etc how to videos on YT.

I'm afraid of "giving with one hand, and taking with the other!"
I have had ON1 2018 and 2019, and I seem to recall that 2019
robbed the 2018 version of some of its very useful power.
So I am loathe to swap-out 2019 for 2023!! :(

Jack, although I use effects inside PhotoRaw, they mention in the email above it can be used as either a standalone product or as a plug in within other image editors (eg, Adobe, Affinity etc), so I don't think it would impact on your 2018/19 products. My understanding is that each ON1 program is installed in its own subdirectory folder, eg, 2018, 2019, 2020, and so on, so should be completely independent of each other.
